Three ways to enjoy Costa Rica, according to Cindy: Eat, Beach, Sleep
For Cindy, School of the World was more than a place to learn to surf and speak Spanish. It was an opportunity to explore a new country, try new foods, see new sights, and connect with people from all over the world.
Cindy grew up in China and currently works in New York, but this was her first time in Costa Rica. She attended the school and took surf, Spanish, and yoga classes.
Cindy captured an average day and some of her trip highlights in the video below! Get a glimpse of how School of the World expanded Cindy’s view of herself and her travels.

Embracing Pura Vida
During her stay, Cindy truly adapted to the Pura Vida lifestyle. Despite language barriers, cultural differences, and the challenge of learning new skills, she approached each day with an open mind and whole heart.
The open-air hallways, study areas, and communal kitchen create a sense of calm throughout the school. Outside the school, Cindy explored Manuel Antonio National Park, Jacó’s beautiful beaches, and local bars and restaurants.
Cindy’s experience at School of the World is typical of many students. While you might not know what to expect on your first day, your time at the school is molded by the other students, instructors, and locals you’ll meet in Jacó.
The people you meet, the places you go, and the memories you create make each student’s journey unique and unforgettable.
